Late

I was supposed to write a new entry yesterday but obviously it slipped out of my mind. Yesterday turned out to be a bad day for me. A very irritating and disgusting thing happened in the morning. I was informed that someone who had been reading my blog have been distorting things that I wrote and trying to control my life. >:(

To that particular person: Please keep away, mind your own business and read my entries carefully.

After which I went off to teach tuition and saw Leanne at the house. =) Our students lived under the same roof so I will get to meet her at least twice a week. The students are forever that interesting and funny. That really makes me smile. Teaching for a few hours straight before I headed home, had dinner and set off again for my make-up tuition with another student. Now you know why it was a bad day for me. It was a long and irritating day for me.

On the happier note, I finally get to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone; and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. =D I only managed to read the book and never manged to catch the movie. But they were kind of disappointing cos a few details were missing from the movie. Heard that the next following few movies will leave out even more details. -.-’

A few days ago, my mum was changing the drawers that keeps our home wear clothes and my mum found a cane hidden in my younger brother’s drawer. It brings back a lot of memory. We used to keep canes in our drawers so that our parents could not find them. Lol. But we never realised that my brother actually managed to keep 1 particular cane for so many years. Haha.

I am planning on Children’s Day

Lol. Yes, you did not read me wrong. I am planning on what to get my tuition kids on Children’s Day. Haha. In fact, I spent $10+ on some rulers and pens for my tuition kids. Hehe. I intend to add more things to it as the day drew nearer. =P

My dad’s birthday is coming and I am intending to give a treat to my family on that day at a coffee shop nearby. However, we still to plan because it clashes with my grandmother’s birthday celebration.

For twice of this week, I had managed to catch a ride from Leanne back home from tuition as we coincidentally had tuition either at the same time or end at almost the same time. Hehe. Thanks lots, Leanne. =)

I also met Eilin today while I was making my way to Bedok MRT to make my way to my 4th tuition of the day. Had a small chat but we were both rushing for time so we parted before we really talk.

Glad to see people and hear that people I know are all still alive and kicking. Lol. Just kidding.

Oh, I took cab 3 times just within 4 days. Argh! Not very glad with myself. I always try to refrain from taking a cab but sometimes the circumstances just don’t allow it to happen. I like taking cab but I hate paying the fares. Lol. It just make me a lot poorer. I am going to refrain from taking cab as much as possible for the time being. =)

I have been debating whether I should get a portable DVD player for quite some time. Finally decided not to get it on Monday.

I am thinking about the uses of a portable DVD player. No doubt that recently I have been spending a lot of my time on the road but I always have my iPod to accompany me and if I decided to get the portable DVD player, what will happen to my iPod? Afterall, I paid a decent sum for it. After thinking through everything, I decided against it.

I shall not be too materialistic. I want to be more practical. Unless necessary, I will refrain from paying extra. That is for the time being. Hehe. But I doubt how long will I keep to it? Lol. Money can really do wonders. Haha.

I finally managed to discover the how to differentiate a terrance house, semi-detached and a bungalow. Lol. Thanks to Leanne. Just within a few months, I came across 2 of them and which I get to visit at least once a week. If my financial position allows, I want to live in one of them and keep a dog that is like Letto (is that the spelling?). Hehe. Okay, off I go to bed. Too tired. =D

Oh ya, did I mention that Sweet Talk is going to release a new product? It’s ice cream. It tastes good and I really love the chocolate ice cream and don’t really enjoy the green tea one cos the powdery taste is too strong. Overall, it is good. Remember to look out for the launch. =)

Hectic schedule

I have 11 individual students and 1 class now. My schedule is so packed that I have to go out to give tuition every single day.

I am now so frustrated with myself that I don’t have anymore leisure time for myself. In fact, I have to sacrifice my meal times to travel from one place to another.

I can’t even give up any student now cause their exams are coming in a few weeks time. But I had made up my mind to drop a few students once their exams are over. I need my rest and to begin life as a student once again.

Tuition is easy money but you have to sacrifice all your afternoons and evenings.

Sprees will stop till I managed to find time for them. Guess there will be very little activities in my blog for the next few weeks.  Haiz.

Super Kelly

Kelly becoming ‘Super Kelly’!

Haha. I am now no longer just a part time tutor. I am now a full-time tutor. All my time is dedicated to teaching tuitions. Lol.

My agent, Jason, suddenly BIA (back in action) after he MIA (missing in action) for about 1 month and a half and decided to throw me with as many assignments as possible. Haha.

Just within 3 days, I accepted 3 more assignments meaning that I have 5 individual students and a tuition class. I will also be taking over 1 student from Darius and perhaps 1 more from Jeffrey making that 7 individual students and 1 tuition class.

I just did a little time-table for myself to show my timing so far and my goodness. I will be super busy on Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now my only off day is Monday and Sunday. Hopefully I don’t have to touch on these 2 days so that I can get my rest

However, I love to teach tuition because of the high pay and short hours. In no time, I will be earning slightly above $1000 for about 17 hours a week. That is so cool. Think it istime to start arranging to repay the loan from my dad’s CPF account and saving for ACCA.

Fantastic! Falling ill 1 day before my graduation ceremony. I am down with a bad flu and fever. It’s freaking cold right now.

I had no idea that I am down with fever until I ended my work for the day. -.- I did relief teaching again then left for my tuition kid’s place only to find out that the mother together with the agent cancelled the session today without informing me. -.- Went home to take a quick bathe and went to another student’s place.

Felt sick when I left her place and TATA, I am down with fever. -.-”

Went to see a doctor just now and he asked me if I need a MC. =( I cannot take MC. Especially not on my last day in TP. Pray hard that I will feel better tomorrow. Cross my fingers.

Argh~

Okay, I am getting very pissed off by the mother of the student I mentioned earlier. I am supposed to be conducting a total of 8 classes, 1.5 hours each every month but till today I still cannot conduct my 4th lesson with the boy.

This is because the mother had changed my tuition timing for more than 5 times. Worst. She took me as a medium man girl to contact the agent because she is afraid to call the agent. Pissed off.

Last week I finally had my 3rd lesson with the student and we spent 1.5 hours doing 3 simple algebraic equations and 1 of which is done by me. I only have 3 simple points for him and he just cannot remember them. I repeated myself at least 100 times and he still cannot remember it even though I was constantly reminding him.

I asked a friend who had 1 year of teaching experience and currently has 5 students on hand what should I do with such parents and student. She recommend me to drop it as well. I am dying for the 8th lesson and bid goodbye to the mother and the boy. Most importantly, STOP calling me 1 day before the tuition date to cancel the tuition.

Me

Went to my Primary 4 student’s home today. Help her to get a few assessment books. I really like her a lot. She is chatty and willing to learn. She asked questions when she is in doubt which I really like my students doing that, afterall I am not supposed to repeat all that her teacher had said in school. That defeats the purpose of going to school.

Afterwhich, I met Wan Xin to accompany her to Giant to get a DVD player and she ended up getting the one that I gotten for myself a few weeks ago. Hehe. We walked around Giant and started talking. We chat about how ugly is the graduation gown (which is very true!), other poly-mates and what is going on in our lives recently.

I have to say that I really am not used to shopping. A little shopping can make me so exhausted. I so wanted to hit my bed now but I have so many things to do. I have to continue typing a report on my student’s essay, planning for the next lesson for my students and not forgetting getting ready for Angela’s arrival. I predict that I will only be free on next Friday. I am so busy till I totally forgotten to get the stuffs for the fanclub from Sarah. Gotten rush to her house in the morning tomorrow then to the airport, afterwhich for my Korean classes and finally to Bishan to settle the stuffs for the autograph session.

Sunday will be chaotic again and so is Monday. I have no choice as I am being left to do everything for the 4 days Angela is here. Faints.

Pissed off

Received a call from my NT student’s mum. Sickening. This is the 2nd time they are changing the tuition time. Hate it. I am definitely dropping this student after 2 months.

Firstly, my habit is to understand the standards of my students on the first lesson and to find out what they know and do not know by letting them practise the questions first then when it comes to questions which they do not know I will explain to them.

This student is waiting for me to spoon-feed him with the answers. ARGH! Then he complained to his mother that I let him do the questions himself without teaching him at all. ARGH! Pissed off. I did explain the questions which he thought were difficult to him but nothing gets into his head. What can I do when I meet this kind of students?

I never thought that tutors are teachers. Tutors are just someone who is there to guide you and help you with your studies. My last tuition session was when I was in Primary 5. Never had tuition ever again. No matter how badly I have done in my studies, I insisted on not having a tutor because I strongly believe that self-learning is the only way you will remember. Having a tutor is not useless. Having a tutor forces you to study at a specific time for a specific period. I am self-motivated to do my own learning. When I meet people who refuses to even accomodate with the tutors I get super pissed off.

If the mother is changing the timing again, I am going to tell her to get another tutor. She is creating problems for me. I rather not earn the tuition fees and get someone else who is willing to learn. Hating NT students who scored horrible results and not willing to learn.

Switching off my hp

ARGH!!! I just love to switch off my hp at night and this is so GREAT because I missed a relief teaching chance just like this. Pissed off with myself. Mental note to myself: “Never switch off my hp at night again.”

Fantastic! I can get better at this. I just rejected another job offer. -.- Pay wise is $8/hr, transport provided and to work for about 2 weeks to 1 month. I couldn’t accept because of my tuition commitments and Korean classes. I can get better at this. Haiz.

Still trying to be hopeful

I am still trying to be hopeful. Not a single letter till today and JC people had received the letters. I am hoping that I am on the waiting list whereby once someone rejected the offer, I would get it. I really dreaded people(사랑) talking to me about the letters from uni. It spoils my day(요일). =(

My uncle comforted me that he also received the letter from NTU pretty late so I am still waiting. YOU HEAR THAT NUS AND NTU? You had better send the letter to me asap. =D

Saw a letter addressed to my brother from my uncle’s company. I wondered what is in it. I want to know. I am suspecting that my brother was headhunted by some headhunters. If that is true, my brother might be working alongside with my uncle. Can’t wait for my brother to get home. I am such a busybody. =P

Okay. Tuition assignments had started. So far I had met 2 of my students(학생). 1 from Victoria *sweating* and another is a normal technical student from Hougang. I will be meeting the other student of mine on this coming Tuesday(화요일). Wonder if he/sheis a guy or girl. =D Hopefully a girl cos the previous 2 are guys. -.- No fun. LOL.

So far I already went through half of the Korean(한국) classes. What I learnt are the basic but I can’t catch it when the teacher(선생님) speaks. LOL. She spoke way too fast for me to catch what the heck she was talking about. Haha. To make it worse, the pronunciation of some words are horrible. Such as Sunday is ‘ir yo ir’, 일요일. Its tough. But I guess I am coping well. Afterall I hadn’t had anyone to practise with. Hehe.

Finally bid goodbye to Corner Love, 转角遇到爱.I find it a rather good show. Worth watching. =)
