Marry Me Review

Review: Marry Me by Mike He and Liu Zhe Yin.
This drama is rated boring by most audience. It is very expectable because it is not as happening as most of the other dramas. If you can appreciate the different angles of how the film is projected and the little small actions that indicate slight attraction between one another, you will like this show like I do.
Firstly, this show is, like I mentioned, not as happening. The story is slow moving and romance only really happened towards the end of the show. Instead of romance, the drama is replaced with jokes, comical actions, friendship, trust and facing reality. You can expect little jokes and comical actions from every character in the show especially the main leads themselves.
What do I mean by facing reality? Basically, this place where all of them gathered is a place for anyone who wishes to run away from anything. As long as you finally learned to face the reality of life, you can graduate from the place. In which, only 3 persons graduated and left the “runaway hostel”. One left unexpectedly, another died and the last decided to take the last wish of his son (the one who died) back to his lover (the son’s mother). Although the rest did managed to learn how to face reality, they did not choose to leave but stay put.
Mike played a famous actor who was abandoned on his wedding day by his bride (played by Mike, himself) and Liu Zhe Yin played a girl who wanted to run away from her boyfriend who proposed to her. In which, they slowly fell in love but did not have a happy ending in the end.
Mike suffered a rare disease which the doctors are clueless of any cures to it. During the period when he was undergoing treatment for this disease, he was exposed by the media that he had a terminal illness. He was cornered outside the hospital and ran away with the help of Zhe Yin who accidentally knocked against a lamp post when she was running after Mike.
Not long after, she died from internal bleeding and she was wearing her wedding gown when she died silently. Mike was devastated. He also passed away not long after.
You will notice that the ending is very similar to the ending of Love Contract. It did tell you that the characters in the show did die but at the same time, they try to change the ending such that you are wondering whether everything really did happen. This ending is not exactly very impressive but at the same time you feel better as it is not exactly a bad ending. It seems to me that there is a double ending. Not too bad. =)
