Moving house is definitely tiring

Moving house is definitely tiring. Especially when you have so many things in your house. No, I did not move out of my present home. I simply moved things from rooms to rooms.

My house used to have 8 people who are my grandparents, parents, 2 brothers, uncle and me. Now that my uncle moved out, we reshuffle the rooms. My parents moved to the smaller room which is originally my uncle’s and brothers’ room. Then we, the children, moved to my parents’ ex-room. Many shuffling to do as we have to shift all the shelves and beds around.

The worst part is cleaning and moving things from my brothers’ room. My elder brother actually ‘kept’ spiders. Not exactly kept but indirectly. He never clean his book shelves so you can imagine the layer of dust that is accumulating there and he kept buying stuffs to add on to his shelves. Cos he never did clean up, spiders actually came and lived in his room. Yucks!

My uncle also has yet to move his stuffs and clothes to his new home. It is also accumulating dust since many years ago. That room is so dusty that I cannot imagine staying in it.

Mini adventure

My hamster, Mini, ran away on the night of my uncle’s church wedding (17/03/06). We searched the house on the 18/03/06 for her but couldn’t find. We do not the time to look for her as it is also my grandfather’s birthday celebration and my uncle’s wedding dinner that night.

On 19/03/06, my dad spent the whole day searching for it by putting food around the house. When I woke up yesterday morning, my mum told me that my dad wrote and stick on my brother’s room door not to open the door as the hamster is in that room. I was so happy.

I waited for my dad to wake up and we crept into the room to look for my hamster. She didn’t come out but she is not alone cos my dad put her sister into the room to accompany the naughty Mini. I fed Nesie and suddenly heard Mini biting some boxes. I follow the noise to where my uncle places the boxes he wanted to use to move his things to his new home. There she is. Naughty girl. I had no idea how she survive during that few days she went on her own ‘holiday’ without a ‘ticket’.

WPG

The company that I worked for is WPG International. Its a very big company with many subsidiaries and branches in other countries.

Compared to all the other jobs that I held, I prefer the working environment in WPG. 1 thing is the Accounts department is in a room rather than just somewhere in the office. There are many staffs in the Accounts department and all are super friendly. The company also provide buffet lunch from Monday to Thursday. Friday is a lunch-out day. What more can I ask for?

BUT, just today alone I spent $8.90 on lunch. It’s because my colleagues brought us (new staffs) to Winsor Hotel for lunch. I had fish & chips and the share is so big that I could not finish at all. Luckily I didn’t add $3 for the semi-buffet. Got to spend the next Monday to Thursday eating in the office to make up for the lunch. =(

My cousin, Esther, just told me that she signed up for the Korean classes last week and I am definitely going down to register as well so next time we can communicate in Korean and gossip. =P Ok, got to go get ready for my uncle’s wedding tomorrow. Tata.

Job Update

I really did bid goodbye to the job, Vanessa got it. But I got another job a bit nearer to my house. An accounting job at Ubi for WPG.

I think I did well for the interview which was scheduled at 2pm today. Another girl from Ngee Ann poly was interviewed for the same position after me today. She was supposed to be interviewed earlier but I arrived earlier. Hehe.

I think the interviewer is very happy with me and he told me that I would most likely get the job and true enough I got it. I put on the formal attire with a formal briefcase, makeup, covered shoes and brought along my portfolio for the interview and thank god I did that. He assess grooming as well, I knew that because the application form which I filled up has a page attached behind stating what the interviewer will assess on. Gosh. Lucky me. Haha.

Stupid me

I think I just bid goodbye to a potential good exposure to accounting and audit job. Boohoo~

Received a call from my job agent and was told to call the finance manager (I supposed) regarding the job at IDA. I called and when she asked if I know how to prepare a audit schedule, I told her I did not take up audit as my elective so I did not learn how to prepare one. ARGH!!!~ How stupid can I get?

Now she called back to the agent and did not call back. Stupid me. I should have told her I am willing to learn from my friends now before the start of work. ARGH!!!~ What did I do? Don’t even need to go for interview and I know I am out for sure.

Something happened to my blog for the past 2 days. No idea what but its scary.

Highest record: 800 individual views yesterday.

Worst thing is I have no idea how did the viewers came upon my blog. There is no referrers or search engine referrers. Scary.

Tremors

Thanks god I said it before my mum scolded my dad for shaking her chair. Lol. I felt my computer desk and chair swaying slightly just now and so did my mum. Then my mum asked my dad if he felt anything and he said no.

This tremors is due to the 6.3 earthquake off Sumatran coast.

Mad

I think I was mad on Friday. I was supposed to meet Eilin, her sis, Meow Khim and Chiu Yan at Clementi at 5.10pm. Guess what time did I leave home? 5pm!! How can I get there on time when I leave at this kind of timing. Even if I take a cab, I won’t be able to reach there on time at all. Decided to take a gamble. I shall not take a cab. If I make it on time to the campus concert, its best. If I didn’t then too bad for myself.

I took the train to Clementi and on the way, I am very worried. Worried that my friends do not know who to get the tickets from so I made a few calls and finally I reached Clementi at 6.10pm. Now I still have to take a bus to NUS Kent Ridge Hall. I waited for the bus which came very late and again I took another gamble. Chiu Yan told me that NUS is at the 4th or 5th bus stop, not the 10th bus stop that I told them. As I was already late, I don’t have the luxurious of time to find my way from their Engineering school to the Business just to find the Kent Ridge Hall.

I alighted at the 10th bus stop and started walking back to where I saw the Heng Mui Keng road sign. Following the road sign, I walked into a stretch of private landed properties. Tata, I found Kent Ridge Hall in less than 5 minutes and I made it on time to the campus concert. Hehe. =P

What is worse is what follows. When I reached home, I received a returned call from Jia Ying regarding my shopping trip the next day and when we were chatting, there is another incoming call from Wan Xin. Its then did I realized that I actually had 4 things lined up on Saturday which I already turned down 2 offers. The remaining 2 actually clashes super badly. I was supposed to meet Jia Ying and group at 1.30pm at Bugis and Wan Xin at 1pm at Tampines to go to the Career Fair. In the end I had to cancel the shopping trip. It is mad because I knew when the stuffs are and at what time but it did not clash in my mind. In fact its almost like 1 after another. My mind is all jumbled up last Friday. Crazy.

3 papers down, no more to go

This exam is a disaster. Either there is no time to finish, questions unclear, not enough information given or the questions are super tricky. I don’t expect good results this time round especially when I almost flunk my law project. Forget it, I shall wait for my results. Hopefully able to maintain at least 3.3 for my GPA.

Now, its time for Queen of Dramas to make a comeback. Hehe. Introduce to you: Engagement for Love, 爱情经纪约. The casts are Alex Du, Ambrose Hsu, Lara, Genie and Lin Meng Jin.

The story is about a particular artiste, Young (Ambrose Hsu), caused problems for his executive officer (Alex Du) by eloping with a triad leader’s wife. Being caught between the triad leader and a pressing movie casting, he had to make a decision fast that is to find Young immediately.

Jia Bao (Ambrose Hsu), a gangster from HK with the spliting image of Young, came to TW to look for his cyber ex-girlfriend (Lara) for a sum of money he lend to her. When he arrives, he realized that his cyber ex-girlfriend refuses to acknowledge him and later found out that the one who borrowed the money is Lara’s brother.

It so happened that Alex Du saw Ambrose and decided to come up with a scheme to make him a substitute for Young. The condition of the contract is he is not allowed to reveal his true identity to anyone. During this period, his love for Lara grew but Lara not knowing his true identity fell for Alex Du instead. Between Lara and Lin Meng Jin, Alex’s girlfriend, he had to protect Lin Meng Jin because of her special identity as the hottest artiste of his company.

Again and again, Alex hurted Lara because he is caught between a promise with Lin Meng Jin in the past and his growing love for Lara. Ambrose like a knight in the dark always comforting Lara and protecting her never win her heart. As time passes, Genie, a fallen princess, who is a friend of Lara and also the rightful owner of the company currently owned by Alex fell for Ambrose.

The company was later taken away by Genie’s adopted brother, watch how Alex, Ambrose, Lara, Lin Meng Jin and Genie fights for the company and their happiness.

Basically that is the story. 15 episodes in total. You may find it boring during the mid of the show but the best is at the end. I cried buckets and believed that I used at least 1 box of tissue for this drama. Haha. I was cursing during the start of the show as Lara never saw Ambrose and only has eyes for Alex who is so much older than her and she is so blinded by only what Alex did for her. Believe me, I was so angry at first but as the show progress, I begin to think that Lara is not that bad afterall. Hehe. This is really a very good show. Must watch.
